In the summer of 2021, my good friend Mark and I embarked on the great American road trip. Cruising across the USA in my Chevrolet, we explored the Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, and St. Louis. Part of our adventure included traveling Route 66, where we stopped to tour the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, Oklahoma. This photo captures the Silver Saddle Motel in Santa Fe at sunset. The motel – from its exterior to its interior décor – was a kitschy homage to a bygone era.
